Suzu-yaki (珠洲焼) is an unglazed stoneware, its deep charcoal surface born from the iron-rich clay of the Noto Peninsula and drawn out by fire and ash. Each plate is shaped to cradle a single stick or cone of incense, turning a daily ritual into a moment of stillness.

Caring for your Suzu-yaki
Rinse by hand with warm water (a drop of mild soap if needed) and dry fully before storing. Please avoid dishwashers, microwaves, and long soaking. With gentle use, the surface deepens in character over the years.
If it arrives damaged
Each piece is fragile and hand-packed with care. If anything arrives damaged, email info@the-zen-artisan.com within 7 days with photos of the piece and packaging, and we’ll send a replacement or a full refund.
