Suzu-yaki Incense Holders
Hand-formed Suzu-yaki incense holders — each an incense plate for a stick or cone, born from the iron-rich clay of Japan's Noto Peninsula and drawn out by fire and ash. Unglazed, quietly lustrous, and made to age with you.
Suzu-yaki is a centuries-old unglazed stoneware tradition. What is Suzu-yaki? →
Using & caring for your incense holder
- Rest an incense stick in the well, or a cone at the centre; the plate catches the ash.
- Wipe clean with a soft, dry cloth. Rinse gently if needed and dry fully — no harsh detergents.
- Slight variations in colour, texture, and form are the mark of genuine handmade work, not flaws.
