Zen Complete Set
A hand-formed Suzu-yaki incense plate from the Noto Peninsula, paired with three signature Xiang Do incense varieties from Shoyeido — Kyoto's oldest incense house, established in 1705.
Suzu-yaki (珠洲焼) is an unglazed stoneware, its deep charcoal surface born from the iron-rich clay of the Noto Peninsula and drawn out by fire and ash. Each plate is shaped to cradle a single stick or cone of incense, turning a daily ritual into a moment of stillness.
What's included
- One hand-formed Suzu-yaki incense plate (approx. 10cm)
- Xiang Do Frankincense — 20 sticks
- Xiang Do Hinoki (Japanese cypress) — 20 sticks
- Xiang Do Peppermint — 20 sticks
Three scents, sixty quiet moments — resinous frankincense, forest-fresh hinoki, and crisp, cooling peppermint, each pressed by Shoyeido's blend of traditional craft and modern perfumery.
Free shipping
This flagship set ships free to every destination we serve.
Please note
Each piece is made entirely by hand. Because Suzu-yaki is individually formed and fired by hand, slight variations in colour, shape, texture, and size are natural and unique to your piece — they are the mark of a genuine handmade object, not a flaw.
Pairs beautifully with our Shoyeido incense refills.

Caring for your Suzu-yaki
Rinse by hand with warm water (a drop of mild soap if needed) and dry fully before storing. Please avoid dishwashers, microwaves, and long soaking. With gentle use, the surface deepens in character over the years.
If it arrives damaged
Each piece is fragile and hand-packed with care. If anything arrives damaged, email info@the-zen-artisan.com within 7 days with photos of the piece and packaging, and we'll send a replacement or a full refund.
The Artisan
The plate in every Zen Complete Set is made by Takanori Kizawa (木澤孝則), a Suzu-yaki potter in Suzu City on the Noto Peninsula. He forms and finishes each piece by hand in the revived Suzu-yaki tradition — so no two are exactly alike.
When you light your incense, you hold the work of a single maker, carried on through the rebuilding of Noto.
