Suzu-yaki Incense Holders

Hand-formed Suzu-yaki incense holders — each an incense plate for a stick or cone, born from the iron-rich clay of Japan's Noto Peninsula and drawn out by fire and ash. Unglazed, quietly lustrous, and made to age with you.

Suzu-yaki is a centuries-old unglazed stoneware tradition. What is Suzu-yaki? →

Using & caring for your incense holder

  • Rest an incense stick in the well, or a cone at the centre; the plate catches the ash.
  • Wipe clean with a soft, dry cloth. Rinse gently if needed and dry fully — no harsh detergents.
  • Slight variations in colour, texture, and form are the mark of genuine handmade work, not flaws.

Shipping & damage

Each piece ships hand-wrapped from Japan. If anything arrives damaged, contact info@the-zen-artisan.com within 7 days with a photo and we will make it right.
