"Full Moon" — Mid-Autumn Gift Set
A limited gift set for 中秋の名月 (Chūshū no Meigetsu), the mid-autumn moon — a hand-formed Suzu-yaki incense plate paired with a limited sandalwood incense from Shoyeido, Kyoto's oldest incense house, established in 1705.
The "Full Moon" plate is a round Suzu-yaki (珠洲焼) incense plate, hand-formed on the Noto Peninsula from iron-rich local clay and fired without glaze — its deep charcoal-black surface drawn out by earth, flame and ash alone. About 9cm across, it is shaped to hold a single stick of incense and catch its ash. Quietly round, like the moon itself.
Choose your shape
- Curve — a surface softly dished, curving gently inward. appx.80g
- Flat — level and calm, about 8mm thick. appx. 140g
What's included
- One hand-formed Suzu-yaki "Full Moon" incense plate (approx. 9cm), in your chosen shape
- One box of limited Xiang Do Sandalwood (白檀) — 20 sticks, 2.75"
Sandalwood (byakudan) is among the oldest woods in Japanese incense — warm, soft and quietly sweet. It was treasured in the Heian court a thousand years ago, when moon-viewing first took root in Japan. A scent made for a long autumn night.
Limited time & stock
Available September 18 – October 7, while quantities last.
Please note
Ships from Japan — please allow 1–3 weeks. This is a keepsake of the season, not guaranteed to arrive by September 25.
Each piece is made entirely by hand. Because Suzu-yaki is individually formed and fired by hand, slight variations in colour, shape, texture, and size are natural and unique to your piece — the mark of a genuine handmade object, not a flaw.

Caring for your Suzu-yaki
Rinse by hand with warm water (a drop of mild soap if needed) and dry fully before storing. Please avoid dishwashers, microwaves, and long soaking. With gentle use, the surface deepens in character over the years.
